Your only light is also what draws them to you.

The phone message from your grandfather was eleven minutes old when you got home. Tonight the lights go out — all of them. And when they do, those things come.

Find what he left for you, then make your way through the dark to the old church — the one where the flame never goes out.

After Dark is a short first-person horror chapter, playable right in your browser. Your wrist monitor is the only light you have. It shows you the way, the map and the detector — and every creature nearby can see it too. Shield it, switch it off, or throw a glow stick somewhere else and hope they follow the light instead of you.

In the dark, you mostly hear what you can't see. Every creature has its own breathing and footsteps, each room its own echo, and your own breath changes as fear builds. With headphones, 3D audio tells you whether something is to your left, to your right — or behind you. And sometimes the scariest sound is the silence.

Made with AI
After Dark is my first game, built for the Vibe Coding Academy game hackathon. I designed and playtested it; Claude Code wrote the code with me (Three.js). Codex helped shape the concept, the moodboard and the story images, and reviewed the game independently. 3D models were made with Meshy, voice, sound effects and music with ElevenLabs.
